Learning Tarot: 10 of Pentacles (Abundance)
When I come to wit’s end, sometimes I dust off my Tarot deck and pull a card to reflect on for the day. This week, I’ve managed to pull the same card three times.
This card shows an old man surrounded by richness on every level, the kind of fulfillment that one might experience at the end of a long, fruitful life.
His seated shape is stable and integrated, visually continuing the overhead arch, which frames our view of a prosperous town. Perhaps he is wearing a rich brocade? I see grapes, perhaps musical instruments depicted on his voluminous robe. Banners hang on the archway. Friendly dogs look to him. Relaxed denizens, perhaps family or neighbors, converse casually nearby. A child also reaches out to pet a dog. And of course, 10 coins overlay the scene.
So, take the goal or end as the path! What would it feel like to have everything that you need?
What are you already grateful for? What makes you feel rich?
I’m grateful for: the ability to keep editing and polishing writing; that I did some painting last night; that everyone living here seems to be getting along okay despite the large influx of new bodies; that the gunk came off my water bottle so I can keep using it; that I have the luxury to even think about going to silly, fabulous, and totally unnecessary things like Burning Man next year; that I can come back to meditation; understanding a bit more where others feel overwhelmed or unheard.
